Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 vs HP Spectre x360 14

Our pick: HP Spectre x360 14 2-in-1 Laptop

Overview

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 and HP Spectre x360 14 are both premium 2-in-1 convertibles priced with the same Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor. Same chip, same price, same OLED display technology. So the decision really came down to screen size, RAM, portability, and pen input when I tested them side by side.

Quick answer: The Spectre x360 14 offers better value with double the RAM. The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 wins on screen size and S Pen.

Display

Samsung’s 16” AMOLED panel is gorgeous. Deep blacks, punchy colors, smooth 120Hz scrolling across a big canvas. I loved having the extra screen real estate for side-by-side windows, and drawing on the larger surface felt more natural.

The Spectre x360 14 has a 14” 2.8K OLED panel, also at 120Hz. Colors and contrast are equally stunning. The smaller size means higher pixel density, so text looked slightly sharper to my eye at normal viewing distance. Both panels cover 100% of DCI-P3 and look incredible for HDR content.

The tradeoff is straightforward: the Galaxy Book gives you more screen area, the Spectre gives you more portability and pixel density.

Winner: Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 for screen size. HP Spectre x360 14 for pixel density and portability.

Pen Input

The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 includes Samsung’s S Pen in the box. It’s one of the best stylus experiences I’ve used on a Windows laptop: low latency, natural pressure response, and a comfortable grip. For note-taking, annotation, and sketching, having a premium pen included at no extra cost is a big deal.

The Spectre x360 14 supports MPP 2.0 pens with 4,096 pressure levels, but no pen ships in the box. You’ll need to spend to on one separately. The pen experience is good once you have one, but the Galaxy Book’s bundled S Pen is the better out-of-box experience.

Winner: Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360. The included S Pen adds real value.

Build and Portability

The Spectre x360 14 is one of the best-looking laptops I’ve seen. HP’s gem-cut aluminum chassis has angular edges and a dual-tone finish that turns heads. At 2.93 lbs, it felt noticeably lighter in my bag compared to the Galaxy Book’s 3.44 lbs. That half-pound difference matters after a full day of carrying it around.

The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 is slim and well-built, with Samsung’s clean, understated aluminum design. It feels solid and professional, though less distinctive than the Spectre. The larger 16” chassis naturally weighs more and takes up more space.

If you commute or travel frequently, the Spectre’s lighter weight and smaller footprint make a real difference. If your laptop mostly lives on a desk, the Galaxy Book’s larger frame is less of a concern.

Winner: HP Spectre x360 14. Half a pound lighter with a more refined design.

Verdict

The HP Spectre x360 14 is my pick. At the same price, it delivers 32 GB of RAM versus the Galaxy Book’s 16 GB, weighs half a pound less, and has one of the best designs in any laptop category. That RAM advantage alone would be enough to tip the scales: 32 GB gives you real headroom for browser tabs, creative apps, and multitasking that 16 GB just can’t match. The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 is the better choice if you want a larger display and an excellent pen included in the box. But for most buyers, the Spectre’s RAM, weight, and build quality make it the stronger package.
