Who Is This For?
The Aspire Go 15 is for buyers who need a functional laptop at the lowest possible price:
- Students: handles Google Docs, Zoom, research, and streaming without issue
- Home office on a budget: email, spreadsheets, and web browsing run fine
- Backup/travel laptop: a cheap machine you won’t worry about damaging
If you need to run demanding software, game, or video edit, save up for something in the $800+ range.
Performance
The Ryzen 5 7530U with 16 GB RAM handles everyday computing with zero complaints. Chrome with 20+ tabs, Office apps, and Spotify all run smoothly. Don’t expect to do anything more demanding than that. The integrated Radeon graphics will choke on anything beyond casual indie games.
Display
The 15.6-inch 1080p IPS panel is surprisingly decent for the price. Colors won’t win any awards, but viewing angles are wide enough for sharing your screen in a group. The 60Hz refresh rate and slow response time are noticeable next to higher-end laptops. Text scrolling and video have visible ghosting.
Build Quality
This is where the $399 price shows. The chassis is all plastic with noticeable flex when you press on the keyboard deck or open the lid. The hinge is loose enough that the screen wobbles if you type aggressively. It’ll survive normal use, but don’t expect ThinkPad durability.
Battery Life
The 50 Wh battery pushes 8-9 hours of light productivity (web, docs, video). That’s all-day for a student with a mix of classes and study sessions.
The Bottom Line
At $399, the Aspire Go 15 delivers where it matters (RAM, storage, and a usable processor) and cuts corners where it can afford to. If your budget is under $400, stop looking. This is the one to buy.
